Basic geology & exploration – Finding the minerals

Geophysics in Mining Exploration

Exploration Geophysics is used to help find economic minerals for mining.  It depends on changes of physical properties of the geologic material.  For example copper is different than granite.  Even subtle differences are enough to help find mineralization.  Geophysical methods can also be used for environmental and engineering applications.
