Course Description
The All About Mining course includes three components:
- Online component – free prerecorded online lectures divided into nine general categories; most lectures are followed by short multiple-choice quizzes or exercise insight.
- In-class component – three days of lectures on the CSM campus; provides a review of the online component and highlights key topics of each category; includes short field trips near campus
- Field trip component – five days of in-depth field trips to Colorado mining/processing locations; a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see how minerals are turned into products used every day.
While the online component is free and open to anyone, the in-class and field trip components require a nominal fee and additional registration. To qualify for the in-class and field trip components, participants must first complete the online component.
Individuals who successfully complete the entire course (all three components) can receive six semester hours of graduate-level licensure/recertification credit from CSM’s SPACE.
